rambling every day

There is no end of people, words, images, events and intentions that amaze me.

urbancurse:

I wonder why it is that structures in America are left abandoned for years on end. Just sitting as a hazard prone to vandals and squatters and scrappers. They are convenient hide outs, or havens for junkies and whores. Occasionally windows and doors are boarded up, but quickly pulled back or busted out for the desperate and misdirected to gain access inside again. It may take years, but eventually the ultimate fate of these places is fire most often associated with arson. Whether the building is structurally sound after a blaze doesn’t really matter… It’ll stand for months and years before being razed or “secured” again. Will this remnant of a house still be standing a year from now? Does the “Danger” ribbon duly note that this house is NOW a harmful threat? There is so much hypocrisy in this photo, and hypocrisy is an overriding theme in this entire documentation of urban decay.
